Our house....

I always loved the CSN song Our House and now Stacy and I can say "our house" and mean it.  We bought a house together on Monday.  For our new life.  This is just what I needed to feel part of San Antonio.  Right now, I'm living in the house Stacy has had for 24 years.

It's very hard to feel at home and like you aren't in transition when it's not "your house".  I've had to fit into what already existed and live in a house that wasn't my choice, nothing I'd pick.  Becoming a couple really seems real when you create something that is new to both of you.  This is what I'm looking forward to.

My tranquil oasis

Love traveling, but it's always wonderful to come back to my home.  My backyard is my oasis, specifically  when I'm in my hammock, dogs on the ground under it or standing by it nudging me.  Having said that....when I'm at Stacy's I don't feel like I'm traveling and out of sorts, I'm with my favorite person.  It's the other times that coming home is so cleansing and I can't wait to get to my hammock.  Even when it's cool out, I'll head to my spot with a quilt, pillow, and a book.  It's pretty much guaranteed I'm going to nod off....I always feel so safe and peaceful.

....by the way, check the Vagabond tab, I keep my travels there and recently I was in Fort Worth.

Where I need to be....

Here we go again.......home owner issues.  A/C again.  Starting to really rethink owning a home.  Are the repair/replacement costs really worth the tax break?  When the girls are gone I'm starting to think I will live in a tiny apartment somewhere and get rid of the responsibility.  Not worth it.  I hate being a slave to my home.  I want to enjoy life and not worry constantly about a multi-thousand dollar A/C replacement, fence rebuilding.....I just can't afford the upkeep.  Big part of it is that my house is now 10 years old, so many of the things are needing replacement at this point.  The rest is that the kids are so hard on things.  The microwave handle is cracked....temper result.  Their bathroom has hair dye and burn marks on the sink vanity and on the door.  Doors with fist holes in them.  It all costs and not sure how it will get fixed to be able to sell it some day.  Just overwhelming.  I'm really starting to second guess this......on my own that is.  With someone it's easier.  Alone?  Sucks.

Where I'd rather be?  The beach more often.  Exploring Texas.  Having fun.

Rant/pity party done.
